Canary Wharf
West India Quay is located just over the footbridge from Canary Wharf in London’s Docklands. The warehouse at West India Quay was used to store imported goods from the West Indies, including tea, sugar and rum and is now a Grade 1 listed building. The area is known for its historical significance as a former trading hub and its transformation into a modern, business district with striking skyscrapers and a vibrant waterfront area. The area has been redeveloped into a thriving artistic and lifestyle city within a city, that includes over 300 shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, many of which are housed in refurbished historic warehouses that still retain their original architecture.
If you’re feeling active you could start the day with some open-water swimming at Middle Dock, in the very heart of Canary Wharf; enjoy an Aperol or bottomless brunch at the quay-side bar and restaurant No 35 Mackenzie Walk; grab an epic bagel from Brick Lane Bagel Co; indulge in one of Badiano Gelato’s signature gelato croissants or for have a blast with a group of friends by hiring a unique Skuna Hot Tub & BBQ boat! Canary Wharf is packed with brunch spots, culinary gems and upmarket bars to suit every taste. We include a Guidebook with all our top recommendations in each apartment.
